"Promenade in Spring"
"Promenade in Spring"
This piece was inspired by a trip to Paris my husband and I took in May of 2015. While we strolled from the Arc de Triomphe to the Eiffel Tower, we turned a corner and suddenly saw the tower prominently appear. The stark distinction from the already-towering apartment buildings surrounding us made it clear just how grandiose Paris' premier landmark truly is. While we have all been quarantined this past year, I have been dreaming about a time that we might be able to visit Paris again and decided to challenge myself with a burning that could bring me back to that place and time.
Each detail was painstakingly hand-burned onto a 13x19 inch piece of 3/4inch maple ply, sealed with water-based polyurethane, and finished with a hand-crafted custom walnut frame. In total, "Promenade in Spring" took 70 hours to complete.
With a keyhole slot in the back, this piece will hang flush on your wall with a strong connection, giving you peace of mind and allowing you to enjoy your woodburning for years to come.
